new AWIA wallpapers

so my new laptop has a 17" screen, giving it an odd (to me) native resolution of 1440x900. i quickly realized that none of the existing AWIA wallpapers looked very good when stretched to that size, and that other than the mr yuk wallpaper, none of them could easily be easily modified to that aspect ratio (8:5).

that meant it was time to create some new wallpapers! i hereby present five new AWIA wallpapers, all available in 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1440x900. (some of them might look familiar if you've been paying attention to the splash page.)

odd music at oddfellows: mp3s now available!

okay, so it took us awhile (about a year), but the mp3s from last december's show at the oddfellows lodge are now available. featuring performances by all your favorite bad taste artists like dr. butcher m.d., stAllio!, bobby vomit, and humdrum vs murkbox, as well as sets by newcomers like baconhanger and 666am. check it out.

but that's not all. coming "soon", bad taste is going to unleash a flood of free mp3s, including some never-before-heard releases as well as new free mp3 editions of old-school releases. up next: murkbox's until-now-unheard dark ambient release, binary drift.

about tonight's show in muncie...

due to scheduling difficulties, "bobby vomit vs stAllio!" will not be performing tonight at village green records. our apologies go out to anyone who was looking forward to seeing us play.

the show itself is still going down, though, and as far as i know, being, pommel, and pocket gallows are still playing. i've seen being play and they're pretty good, so it should be a decent show even without us.

bobby vomit has made some contacts at a bar called doc's in muncie, and we'll be playing a show there in a couple weeks. even though it's our home state, i think this will be animals within animals' first performance for an audience in indiana. it's also bobby vomit's birthday.

new splash page!

the old rabbit watching tv is gone (don't worry; if you miss him, he's still here). what's in his place? that's hard to predict... whatever it is, it'll likely be round.

i've been playing around with circles and round imagery to promote the upcoming animals within animals release parts is parts (ETA: late 2006 or 2007). the new animalswithinanimals.com splash page will randomly display one of these images, so click refresh to see more. there are currently 7, but i'll stealthily add more as i complete them, so check back in perdiodically.

and yes, i know that splash pages are so 1997. at least it's not flash.

new design!

take a gander at the new design for awia news! this one shouldn't cause any seizures like the previous design did. in the coming days i will likely update all awia pages to conform to some variation of this new design.

this new design uses post titles, which the older design didn't. as a result, older posts that do not have post titles will look a little funky. i am going back and adding titles to posts from the past couple months, but i'm not going add titles for all posts (that would be time consuming), so posts dating from before last summer will look a little weird. just a little, though.

i will also probably be doing a lot more web design and such in the coming weeks. if you're in need of a snazzy new design for your blog or website, get in touch and maybe something can be arranged.
